This work’s aim has been to study the usefulness of Urtxintxa Project’s songs as a way to develop linguistic competence. During the research, eleven teachers from four educational centres in Biscay were interviewed in order to create a category system using the NVivo 11 Plus software. The results have been obtained, on the one hand, through the content analysis of that category system and, on the other hand, through the linguistic analysis of forty nursery rhymes, based on the European Common Reference Framework. The results show that nursery rhymes increase children’s ability on lexical competence, grammatical competence and, to a lesser extent, semantic competence. Nevertheless, the obtained evidences also show great differences between some songs and others. After the completion of the work, it is possible to affirm that nursery rhymes help to improve the linguistic competence of students.
Lan honetan, aztertu egin da erabilgarriak diren Urtxintxa proiektuko kantak gaitasun linguistikoa lantzeko. Ikerketan, Bizkaiko lau zentrotako hamaika maisu-maistrari elkarrizketak egin zaizkie, eta kategoriasistema bat sortu da NVivo 11 Plus softwarearen bitartez. Emaitzak ateratzeko, batetik, kategoria-sistema horren eduki-analisia egin da eta, bestetik, hautatutako berrogei haur-kantaren analisi linguistikoa egin da, Europako Erreferentzia Marko Bateratuan oinarrituta. Emaitzek argi utzi dute haur- kantak erabilgarriak direla gaitasun lexikoa eta gramatikala lantzeko, baita, neurri txikiagoan, gaitasun semantikoa ere.
