Al traducir al francés las Novellede Bandello en clave moralizante y trágica, Boaistuau y Belleforest se jactan de haber embellecido la obra de un autor calificado como “assez grossier”. De igual forma, el traductor español de Bandello manifiesta preferir el estilo “dulce y sabroso” de laversión francesa frente a la brevedad del italiano. Considerando estas valoraciones, el artículo plantea un acercamiento a la imagen de Italia que se perfila en ambos textos

In their moralizing French translation of Bandellos’s Novelle, Boaistuau and Belleforest boast of having embellished the style of an author described as “assez grossier”. Similarly, the Spanish translator of Bandello demonstrates a preference for the“dulce y sabroso” styleof the French version against the brevity of the Italian. In light of these opinions, the article proposes an approach to the image of Italy that is presented in both texts
