    EI tema de la salvación y de la justificación conmociona la Europa del s. XVI. Alguno busca una salida por la "sola fe", o por el falso abandono en el "dejamiento", los descalzos y recoletos retornan a la ascesis de la "devotio moderna", los recogidos, simplifican la espiritualidad por el "ordo amoris", y otros. especialmente los pastores, por la •vía del beneficio" buscan corresponder a la generosidad del amor de Dios a los hombres.

    manifestado en Cristo. El dinamismo de San Juan de Ávila se expresa en la confianza y agradecimiento: "el amor de Cristo nos urge' (2 Cor 5,14).

    The theme of salvation and justification shakes the Europe of the 16th century.
