    El trabajo presenta el estudio de un conjunto de fragmentos de pintura mural romana hallados en las excavaciones de 1854, en el lugar conocido como Cantera del puerto de Tarragona Per-tenecen a una pared y a un techo plano y pintado; estilísticamente corresponden a un tipo de decoración clasificable en la corriente pictórica del denominado II estilo pompeyano; el conjunto se puede datar a mediados del siglo I a C y, por el momento, marca el término post quem de la introducción del II estilo en la Provincia Tarraconensis

    The paper presents the study of a set of fragments of Roman wall paintings, found in the excavations of 1854 in the place known as the “Quarry of the port of Tarragona”. Belongin to a wall and a flat and painted ceiling; stylistically they correspond to a type of decoration classifiable in the so-called II Pompeian style; the set can be dated to the middle of the 1st century BC, and for the moment, it marks the post quem term of the introduction of the II style in the Tarraconensis Province.
