  • In this paper the authoress examines how important Homer has been in printed books for children during the last two centuries. She emphasises the evocation of some playwrights who were grown under the influence of foreigner educational patterns; so was Fernán Caballero, born in Germany, and José Martí born in Cuba, a very cultivated man who was able to read Iliad translations into english, french and german. At the begining of 20th century there was an absolutly new translation by Luis Segalá who influenced all books for children since 1910.
