    En un mundo cada vez más globalizado es también más transparente, y lacerante, la desigualdad entre los seres humanos, no sólo en lo referente a la cantidad y calidad de la vida sino, en particular, respecto a la protección de la salud, el tratamiento de la enfermedad y los ensayos e investigaciones con medicamentos. Hay un enorme desequilibrio y desproporción entre Norte y Sur, entre ricos y pobres, entre el Primer Mundo y el “Último Mundo”, siempre a favor de los primeros y a costa de los segundos. Es un tremendo escándalo que pone del revés la justicia, el derecho, la ética y a la bioética. La primacía de la persona por encima de cualquier otro interés no es sólo un bello discurso. Debería ser un principio ético proactivo.
