  • Resumen
    • The aim was evaluate the influence of type of fertilization on maize culture to ensile in dairy cows rations as a strategy to improve the profitability of milk production. The composition of the maize silages growing with conventional (QU) or organic (OR) fertilization were similar, except a higher concentration of starch and energy on OR silage than on the QU silage. The use of organic fertilizers in the culture of maize silage, reduces the proportion of concentrate in the ration of dairy cows and does not increase the voluntary intake of grass in grazing cows. Feeding dairy cows with rations based on this type of silage do not affect either the production nor the composition of milk. The differences observed in the concentration of linoleic and linolenic acids are attributed to increase of grass intake in cows feeding unifeed based on silage of maize cultivated with chemical fertilizers.
