    La intervenció arqueològica al Pla d’Almatà ha estat motivada arran de l’inici del projecte de consolidació de les torres que formen part del perímetre emmurallat del jaciment. Concretament s’ha actuat en nou de les vint-i-quatre torres que conformen el llenç defensiu de l’assentament. Els resultats obtinguts han permès aprofundir en el coneixement de les tècniques constructives emprades per a la realització tant de les torres com de la muralla. A més, també s’han pogut establir tres fases cronològiques generals pel que fa a l’evolució del perímetre defensiu de l’assentament.

    The archaeological excavations in Plà d’Almatà has been motivated following the start of the consolidation project of towers that are part of the walled perimeter of the site. Specifi cally, has acted in nine of the twenty-four defensive towers that make up the canvas of the settlement. The results have allowed us to deepen the knowledge of construction techniques employed to carry both the towers and the walls. In addition, three chronological phases have been defi ned general terms how the defensive perimeter of the settlement.
