Entre pandemia y posverdad: El auge de los populismos

    La comunidad internacional se ha visto conmocionada por el azote de una pandemia generada por el coronavirus que ha desestructurado las reglas habituales de la convivencia, dando lugar al confinamiento obligatorio de la población, a medidas de limitación temporal de las libertades individuales y a tener que lamentar numerosos fallecimientos en todo el planeta. Además, el malestar y la incertidumbre generada por la peste ha provocado en el desarrollo de falsas noticias que, generalmente de origen no contrastado, han ido provocando mayor inseguridad y miedos irracionales sobre la naturaleza de la pandemia. A todo ello, con intenciones torticeras, algunos gobiernos de corte totalitario y populista han aprovechado la confusión reinante para limitar aún más los derechos individuales y debilitar el modelo democrático y el Estado de derecho, frente a lo cual se hace necesaria una reflexión seria y ponderada con el fin de poner en evidencia estas corrientes antidemocráticas que se están parapetando en el modelo de democracia Iliberal.

    The international community has been shocked by the scourge of a pandemic generated by the coronavirus that has disrupted the usual rules of coexistence, leading to the mandatory confinement of the population, measures of temporary limitation of individual freedoms and having to regret numerous deaths all over the planet. In addition, the unease and uncertainty generated by the plague has led to the development of false news that, generally of unverified origins, have been causing greater insecurity and irrational fears about the nature of the pandemic. To all this, with tortious intentions, some totalitarian and populist governments have taken advantage of the prevailing confusion to further limit individual rights and weaken the democratic model and the rule of law, in the face of which serious and considered reflection is necessary. in order to expose these anti-democratic currents that are hiding themselves in the Iliberal model of democracy
