Integrando al alumnado en la Universidad: Organización de un seminario académico-profesional por parte de los mentores del Grado de Turismo

    Durante el curso 2015-2016 se ha implementado por primera vez en la Escuela de Turismo Universitaria de Zaragoza (en adelante ETUZ) el Plan de Orientación Universitaria (en adelante POU). En este ámbito, la coordinadora del POU y los tres binomios tutor-mentor, en colaboración con la dirección del centro, han planteado la organización de una serie de seminarios académico-profesionales en el segundo semestre dirigido al alumnado de primer curso, si bien todos y todas los y las estudiantes han podido participar en él. Finalmente, esta actividad se ha llevado a cabo dentro de las “I Jornadas Turísticas de Aragón” organizadas por la ETUZ desde febrero hasta abril a razón de una charla por semana. En ellas, además de otras charlas, 3 sesiones han estado dedicadas a la comunicación de experiencias académicas y laborales por parte de ex-alumnos y alumnos de los últimos cursos. El objetivo de estas sesiones ha sido principalmente incrementar la motivación de los y las estudiantes de primero en particular y del resto de cursos en general, y su involucración en sus estudios, al ver la aplicabilidad y posibilidades del Grado de Turismo. Los mentores, tutores y la coordinadora del POU, así como los órganos de coordinación y gestión del centro han supervisado estas sesiones. Los resultados muestran una alta valoración por parte del estudiantado de este tipo de actividades.

    During the academic year 2015-2016 the University Orientation Plan (hereinafter POU) was implemented for the first time in the University Tourism School of Zaragoza (hereinafter ETUZ). In this area, the coordinator of the POU and the three tutor-mentor binomials, in collaboration with the management of the center, have proposed the organization of a series of academic-professional seminars in the second semester aimed to first-year students, although all the students have been able to participate in it. Finally, this activity has been carried out within the “1st Tourism Days of Aragon” organized by the ETUZ from February to April for one talk per week. In them, in addition to other talks, 3 sessions have been dedicated to the communication of academic and work experiences by alumni and students of the last courses. The aim of these sessions has been mainly to increase the motivation of the students of first course in particular and of the other courses in general, and their involvement in their studies, to see the applicability and possibilities of the Degree of Tourism. Mentors, tutors and the coordinator of the POU, as well as the coordination and management bodies of the center, have supervised these sessions. The results show a high valuation by the students of this type of activities.
