    La tradición histórica escandinava y alemana se dedicó, en el cambio de siglo, a establecer el método de la historia. Posteriormente se debatió, llegando algunos historiadores a negar su existencia aunque (espero) que todavía tengamos sentido común. Sin embargo, aquellas distinciones hechas hace casi cien años son aún hoy fundamentales en la enseñanza de la Historia. La Historia posee tanto potencial como otras disciplinas para refinar sus procedimientos y terminología cuando el ordenador entra en juego. Esta comunicación es un intento (tal vez insensato) de establecer las nuevas distinciones entre fuentes e historia derivadas de su encuentro con las nuevas tecnologías.

    In the Scandinavian and German historical tradition some work was put into establishing the method of history around the turn of the century. The usefulness of that exercise has been the subject of some discussion later on. Some historians would even protest that there is no such thing as an historical method, all we (hopefully) have is common sense. The distinctions made about a hundred years ago are, however, still fundamental in history teaching today. History, like many other trades, has the potential of having its procedures and terminology refined when the computer comes into the equation. This paper is an (perhaps foolhardy) attempt to state some of the new distinctions about sources and history that can be derived from the rendevouz between history and information technology.
