Resumen de La glotomímesis en la lengua española

En la descripción gramatical y léxica del español se suele recurrir de forma esporádica o marginal a conceptos como el de onomatopeya o simbolismo fónico o, más raramente, ideófono. En este artículo voy a proponer que los fenómenos relativos a estos y otros términos están relacionados entre sí y afectan a todos los niveles de la lengua española. Todos ellos son manifestación de la mímesis lingüística o glotomímesis, la imitación lingüística del mundo no lingüístico, que afecta a todos los niveles de la lengua y que ha de considerarse como uno de los ámbitos característicos no solo de la lengua española en particular sino también de las lenguas en general.

In the grammatical and lexical description of Spanish, concepts such as onomatopoeia or sound symbolism, and more rarely ideophone, are often used sporadically or marginally. In this article I will propose that the phenomena related to these and other terms are interrelated and affect all levels of the Spanish language. They are all manifestations of linguistic mimesis or glottomimesis, the linguistic imitation of the non-linguistic world, which affects all levels of the language and which must be considered as one of the characteristic areas not only of the Spanish language in particular but also of languages in general.
