“Del maternal cariño”. Una aproximación al tema de la maternidad en la tradición poética femenina

    Esta investigación pretende realizar un breve recorrido por las manifestaciones poéticas que desarrollaron el tema de la maternidad desde la Edad Moderna hasta el siglo xix. El objetivo es revelar la presencia del tema desde las primeras composiciones de la Historia de la Literatura a través de los textos de las escritoras principales de su tiempo (Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, María Gertrudis de Hore o Rosalía de Castro). De esta manera, podremos comprobar la pertinencia del tema y la pluralidad de enfoques que presenta, así como su influencia en la construcción de la identidad femenina. Además, constituye un testimonio para entender la concepción de la maternidad en la sociedad de cada periodo histórico.

    This research aims to navigate through the poetic manifestations that developed the subject of motherhood, from the Modern Age to the Nineteenth century. The main goal is to reveal the presence of the topic from the first written poems of the History of Literature, through the main women writers’ texts (Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, María Gertrudis de Hore or Rosalía de Castro). Thereby we will be able to verify the significance of motherhood on poetry and the plurality of approaches it displays, as well as its influence on the construction of female identity. Likewise, motherhood constitutes a testimony to understand the meaning of motherhood in the society of each period.
