Resumen de Inclusive proximity for people of different ages and abilities:the case study of Madrid

  • The inclusion of people of different ages and abilities and the creation of proximal environments to foster a more active way of life have been a rising concern in recent years, althoughthey have not been commonly addressed together. This article examines how recent, proximityrelated actions are considering people of different ages and abilities in seeking to create healthy,accessible and inclusive cities. A mixed-method approach allowed the examination of differentproximity actions in Madrid, already-built and yet-to-built. This analysis showed the variety of approaches dealing with the uprising social issue of accessibility and inclusion of people of every ageand ability from the proximity city angle
