    • In recent years, the application of research methodologies based on the participation of citizenship and social groups, which become a collective construction of knowledge, problems and solutions, is charging great relevance. These, seek to give innovative ways to know and address complex phenomena, encompassing under the paradigm of interdisciplinarity. Through these approaches, not only economic or cultural aspects are addressed, but also natural and environmental, which their materialization have in the Society-Territory binomial.

From the university environment, entering these citizen participation techniques requires an approach that is built both from the theoretical and from the practical level, based on this second on a constant field work. An example of this is collaborative cartography, which becomes an extremely useful citizen participation tool, but also in its application for urban-territorial and environmental management. The theoretical bases in the classroom with the students are based, the application of them will be carried out in a direct field work with the society that inhabits the space, in which tools such as collaborative maps will be applied, not only for Apply these methodologies for citizen participation, but to settle much more specific projects that meet the real needs of these populations, thus creating a teaching methodology settled in the University-Social Binomial.
