    Entomant la crida de la investigadora Alison Cook-Sather (2003 i 2009), amb aquest article pretenc ratificar la necessitat de proposar noves metàfores que reinventen el concepte d’ensenyament-aprenentatge i, doncs, que ajuden a renovar la institució escolar. Formule aquesta metàfora amb l’enunciat: aprendre és reciclar. Miraré de justificar què hi pot aportar aquesta nova (però al seu torn vella) perspectiva. La proposta és circular perquè la metàfora del reciclatge planteja justament utilitzar el pensament metafòric (que és bàsicament ‘reciclador’) com a fil conductor de tot el procés que ha de fer l’aprenent per a aprendre, això és, per a desplegar les seues potencialitats i créixer. La metàfora esdevé no solament un principi que facilita la renovació del pensament i permet el canvi de paradigma, sinó que també és el fonament de l’aprenentatge humà. I, doncs, l’escola n’ha d’estar al corrent.

    Assuming the call made by researcher Alison Cook-Sather (2003 and 2009), this paper seeks to confirm the need to propose new metaphors in order to reinvent the concept of teaching/learning process and, therefore, to help renovate educational institution. I use this metaphor: learning is recycling. I will try to justify what this new but in turn old perspective is able to contribute to the conceptualization of education. The proposal is circular because recycling metaphor puts forward the use of metaphorical thought (which is directly correlated to recycling) as the guiding thread that connects the learning process to achieve the objective, namely, to develop learner potential and make her thrive. This metaphor becomes not only a tenet that facilitates the renewal of general thinking and allows a paradigm change, but also is the foundation for human learning. School should hopefully be aware of it.
