L’extensió de lèxic català cap a l’Andalusia oriental és un àmbit d’estudi no gaire tractat per la filologia catalana. Ací ens ocupem d’un cas concret: cocó. Combinem l’anàlisi lingüística amb l’aprofitament dels corpus textuals i les dades de la geolingüística i de l’onomàstica, i de la història social i cultural. Això ens ha permès de dissenyar l’estructura semàntica de cocó en català i constatar que és més complexa del que mostren els diccionaris de referència. Aportem sentits no enregistrats, generats per projeccions metafòriques i metonímiques.Cocó és un marcador de l’extensió de lèxic català des del migjorn valencià, per Múrcia i fins a l’orient d’Andalusia. Se situa en una àrea on pogué arribar mitjançant la migració de pobladors catalanoparlants, sobretot valencians, des del s. xv i, més intensament, durant l’edat moderna. Trobem cocó com a topònim a l’edat mitjana a Múrcia i, almenys, des de l’edat moderna a Andalusia. La freqüència en la toponímia de tota aquesta àrea i la polisemització són indicis de l’arrelament del mot.L’estudi de les relacions del català amb els veïns peninsulars és un àmbit que planteja desafiaments importants. Ací hem posat atenció sobre l’extensió del català vers l’Andalusia oriental. El volum de lèxic, de topònims i d’antropònims que podrien ser objecte d’estudi és important i, sens dubte, il·luminarà el procés de constitució de l’andalús oriental i la història externa i interna del català; això s’hauria de fer en el sentit invers: la penetració d’elements andalusos i murcians cap al català. Aquesta recerca d’anada i de vinguda s’hauria de completar amb el murcià, el castellà de la Manxa i tot l’àmbit aragonès

The extension of the Catalan lexicon towards eastern Andalusia is an area of study not much covered by Catalan philology. Here we deal with a specific case: cocó. We combine linguistic analysis with the use of textual corpora and data from geolinguistics, and onomastics, and social and cultural history. This has allowed us to design the semantic structure of cocó in Catalan and to verify that it is more complex than the reference dictionaries show. We bring meanings, so far not all recorded, generated by metaphorical and metonymic projections.Cocó is a marker of the extension of the Catalan lexicon from the Valencian south, through Murcia and to the east of Andalusia. It is located in an area where it was able to arrive through the migration of Catalan-speaking settlers, mainly from Valencia, from the 15th century and, more intensely, during the Modern Era. We find cocó as a toponym in the Middle Ages in Murcia and, at least, since the Modern Era in Andalusia. The frequency in the toponymy of this whole area and the polysemization are indications of the rooting of the word.The study of Catalan’s relations with its peninsular neighbors is an area that poses important challenges. Here we have focused on the extension of Catalan towards eastern Andalusian. The volume of lexicon, toponyms and anthroponyms that could be the subject of study is important and, without a doubt, will illuminate the process of the constitution of eastern Andalusian and the external and internal history of Catalan; this should be done in the reverse direction: the penetration of.Andalusian and Murcian elements into Catalan. This back-and-forth investigation should be completed with Murcia, Castilian of La Mancha and the entire Aragonese area.
