  • Resumen
    • This present study, based on the autobiographical and fictional novel «The Girl of the Mental Stop. Do not Miss the Train» (Torres-Caro, 2023), addresses the teaching experience after a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and emphasizes the importance of the illness experience within teaching. It highlights an innovative educational approach called «Melostry» (memory, loss, try), focused on reflective practice, to deal with memory loss and mental blocks. The narrative examines how brain injuries affect cognitive functions and promotes an inclusive educational environment. Using autobiographical material, the study conducts a thorough analysis of the thematic index of the narrative, highlighting how personal experiences of illness can profoundly influence teaching practice and professional development. This analysis underscores the importance of understanding and empathizing with the experience of illness, not only as a personal challenge but as an opportunity to foster resilience. The study also emphasizes the use of qualitative methodologies, providing a robust theoretical framework that integrates new teaching perspectives and contemporary pedagogy
