    En aquest article presentem l’estudi de les pintures murals romàniques de l’església preromànica de Sant Andreu de Vila-robau, amb restes d’una escena amb dos personatges. Tot i que no se’n conservi el cap, per la iconografia, la posició i el gest, es poden identificar molt bé. Són els reis mags portant els seus presents per adorar l’Infant, en l’escena de l’Epifania. El tercer rei i Maria amb l’Infant, que estarien situats a la dreta d’aquestes dues figures, no s’han conservat. L’escena deriva d’un model iconogràfic sorgit en època constantiniana i en ús fins a l’època romànica, del qual hi ha innombrables exemples.

    This article presents a study of the Romanesque wall paintings at the pre-Romanesque church of Sant Andreu in Vila-robau, which include part of a scene with two people whose heads have not been preserved but who may be identified by their iconography, position and gesture as two of the three Magi bringing their royal presents to the newborn Christ: in short, an Epiphany scene. The third king and Mary with the Child, who would have been on the right of these two figures, have not been preserved. The scene is based on an iconographic model originating in the Constantinian era that remained in use until the Romanesque period, a model of which there are countless examples.
