El objetivo del artículo es analizar la memoria histórico-educativa de una entidad social juvenil como Jovent, enmarcada en una barriada periférica de Palma, y creada en los años ochenta de siglo XX. El Club de Esplai Jovent fue el motor del cambio y la trans formación del barrio. Ahora bien, el filtro de este análisis es cómo se ha transmitido esta historia a través del documental “Más que un Barrio” (Cinètica Produccions - IB3 TV).
Pretendemos averiguar si es o no un ejemplo de historia pública de la educación y cómo se representa la trayectoria de la entidad.

The aim of the article is to analyze the historical-educational memory of a youth social entity such as Jovent, framed within a peripheral neighborhood of Palma, and established in the 1980s. The Jovent leisure club was the engine of change and transformation of the neighborhood. However, the filter of this analysis is how this story has been transmitted through the documentary “Més que un Barri” (Cinètica Produccions - IB3 TV). We aim to find out whether or not it is an example of public history of education and how the tra jectory of the entity is represented.

L’objectiu de l’article és analitzar la memòria històrico-educativa d’una entitat social juvenil com Jovent, emmarcada dins una barriada perifèrica de Palma, i constituïda en els anys vuitanta del segle XX. El Club d’Esplai Jovent fou el motor del canvi i la trans formació del barri. Ara bé, el filtre d’aquesta anàlisi és com s’ha transmès aquesta història a través del documental “Més que un Barri” (Cinètica Produccions - IB3 TV). Pretenem esbrinar si és o no un exemple d’història pública de l’educació i com és representada la trajectòria de l’entitat.
