    La maledictología merece toda la atención de la lexicografía contrastiva, pudiéndose confrontar el tratamiento lexicográfico de los maledicta tanto en diccionarios monolingües como bilingües. Cabe constatar la dificultad de graduar objetivamente su fuerza ilocutiva y que todo catálogo de acepciones maledictológicas o de sus equivalentes en otros idiomas no deja de ser incompleto, y más si se trata de diasistemas de gran difusión como el español, el inglés o el francés. En este trabajo estudiamos dicha problemática viendo el tratamiento lexicográfico de algunos maledicta presentes en la serie norteamericana The wire o en sus versiones hispánicas o francesa.

    The science of cursing, is worthy of study using a contrastive lexicography approach, that enables us to compare and contrast swear words in both monolingual and bilingual dictionaries It should, however, be noted that it remains difficult to objectively determine the verbal force of cursing, and that any catalogue or lexicon of curses and their meanings and their equivalents in other languages remains far from complete. This is all the more so, when, as in Spanish, French or English, there are multiple linguistic systems in existence around the world. In this article, cursing is studied in order to reveal the lexicological treatment of curses as they are used in the American series, The wire and in its Hispanic or French versions
