Matilde Landa es una de las “figuras ocultas” femeninas de la lucha revolucionaria en España que se ha rescatado recientemente del olvido. Su apasionante biografía va mucho más allá de la imagen de su muerte, que, sin embargo, sintetiza su recorrido vital por la insumisión y la lucha por la libertad y los derechos de las mujeres. A través de este trabajo de “arqueología de la dignidad” de Matilde Landa se recupera la memoria de su personalidad y su lucha, así como el valor de sus acciones en el seno del Partido Comunista de España, al frente del Socorro Rojo Internacional o, ya encarcelada, como creadora de la Oficina de Penadas.

Matilde Landa is one of the females “hidden figures” of the revolutionary struggle in Spain who has recently been rescued from oblivion. Her exciting biography goes far beyond the image of her death, which, however, summarizes her life journey through insubordination and the fight for freedom and women's rights. Through this work of “archaeology of dignity” by Matilde Landa, the memory of her personality and her struggle is recovered, as well as the value of her actions within the Communist Party of Spain, at the head of the International Red Aid or, already imprisoned, as creator of the Penalties Office.
