    A finales del año 2020 se inician las obras de “Restauración de la Portada de la Basílica-Santuario de la Stma. yVera Cruz de Caravaca”, contratadas por una UTE que designa, como jefe de obra, a quien suscribe, por entoncesalumno del Máster en Patrimonio Arquitectónico por la UPCT. Por ello, se plantea la realización de un TFMque analice y documente, desde una visión crítico-constructiva, tanto el proyecto como la propia intervención.Así, el TFM desarrollado recoge un estudio histórico-cultural de la portada de la Basílica-Santuario, un análisisdel proyecto inicial de intervención, así como un seguimiento de las obras de restauración ejecutadas entreoctubre de 2020 y septiembre de 2021. Por tanto, el TFM se centra en un análisis crítico-constructivo del proyectode restauración, así como de la propia intervención realizada. Además, el TFM presenta una comparativaentre las metodologías y criterios generales, teóricos, actualmente vigentes en este tipo de intervenciones y losfinalmente adoptados durante las obras de restauración. El resultado es un documento que pretende servirde base para futuros proyectos de investigación y restauración/conservación de elementos pétreos como lamonumental portada de Caravaca.

    At the end of the year 2020, the works for the “Restoration of the Façade of the Basilica-Sanctuary of the MostHoly and True Cross of Caravaca” began, contracted by a Temporary Union of Companies, which designated theundersigned, at that time a student of the Master’s Degree in Architectural Heritage at Polytechnic University ofCartagena (UPCT) as the site manager. Therefore, the completion of a Master’s Thesis is proposed, which analyzesand documents, from a critical-constructive perspective, both the project and the intervention itself. Thus, the developedMaster’s Thesis includes a historical-cultural study of the façade of the Basilica-Sanctuary, an analysis of theinitial intervention project, as well as a monitoring of the restoration works carried out between October 2020 andSeptember 2021. Therefore, the Master’s Thesis focuses on a critical-constructive analysis of the restoration project,as well as the intervention itself. Furthermore, the Master’s Thesis presents a comparison between the currentlyprevailing general theoretical methodologies and criteria in this type of intervention and those ultimately adoptedduring the restoration works. The result is a document that aims to serve as a foundation for future research andrestoration/conservation projects involving stone elements, such as the monumental façade of Caravaca
