    El artículo sitúa las reivindicaciones de la mujer en el contexto histórico de la República de Weimar, tras la derrota del estado prusiano en la Gran Guerra. Edith Stein pone las bases antropológicas y teológicas para la revalorización de la mujer en la familia y en la vida civil. Así se muestra biográficamente en su servicio a la Cruz Roja, en su participación en la política, en su aplicación a la docencia y a la investigación, por un lado, y, por otro lado, en las lecciones y conferencias dedicadas a la formación de la mujer durante los años 1928/1933. Las mismas funciones de dominar el universo y cuidar de la prole corresponden a varón y mujer, pero con una mayor especificidad de la primera función en él y una prevalencia específica de la segunda en ella. En ambas tareas se cumple la ayuda mutua, en un sentido distinto y simétrico del uno a la otra. Pionera en su tiempo, abre a la mujer todas las profesiones civiles, dejando en ellas su sello específico como mujer.

    The paper places the women´s claims in the historical context of the Weimar Republic after the defeat of the Prussian state in the Great War. Stein puts the anthropological and theological bases for the revaluation of women in the family and in civil society. Th at’s how it appears biographically in her service to the Red Cross or in the application to teaching and research, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, in lectures and conferences dedicated to the formation of women during the years 1928/33. Th e same functions of dominating the world and taking care of the off spring correspond to a man and a woman, but with a grater specificity of the first function in him and a specific priority of the second in her. Ahead of her time, she opens all the civil professions to women, leaving her with her specific feminine stamp.
