Autumn sunshine

I cannot endure to waste anything as precious

as autumn sunshine by staying in the house.

So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air.

A ride in the rain

And the view out our window.

"October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came -
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band."

Goodbye November

“November comes And November goes,

With the last red berries And the first white snows.

With night coming early, And dawn coming late,

And ice in the bucket And frost by the gate.

The fires burn And the kettles sing,

And earth sinks to rest until next spring.”

First day of fall

At first I didn't notice the difference,

even with the occasional splash of red and orange grabbing my attention.

There is a much more subtle change happening everywhere... the color green is disappearing.
I look back at pictures I took last week and I can see the difference...they look like summer.

And now it looks like fall.

“Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.”
 ― Jim Bishop
I'm sure I'll share a few of my summer pictures next week,
but for today, fall colors seem appropriate.

Romans 5:6

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

His cherished creation

“Imagine, a Being with a mind as great as God's, with feet like trees and a voice like rushing wind,
telling you that you are His cherished creation.”

Ready or not

and the farm country slowly changes from the summer cottons
