Go fish

And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Matthew 4:19
...Thank you for the privilege of being one of your followers. Thank you for reaching out to me and calling me through your Spirit. And thank you for enlisting me as one of your "fishermen." Help me, Lord, to be a good fisherman. By your Spirit, empower me to speak and live the truth of the Gospel...

Fishing

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

A costly mistake

Three weeks ago we picked up a little white koi for our pond from a local pond supplier. It cost $5.00. The experts say to quarantine any new fish for at least a week but in 20 years of having a pond we have never done that bothersome step. This time it proved to be a very costly mistake. One by one our big beautiful koi have died...some that we have had for over 12 years. It is heartbreaking. The first two pictures were taken last week, the third from last fall. The pond looks so empty without them.

Finding Nemo

We never replaced our beautiful koi that a heron ate for his dinner a few years ago. Shipping is costly when you order fish online, so last week I tried Craigslist and hit the jackpot. Just 30 min away, a couple was looking to find a new home for their 3 huge koi that had outgrown their small pond...everyone seems happy with the arrangement!
Our new koi are the 3 closest to the bottom of the photo.

Water Park

We haven't had rain in almost 3 weeks and temperatures in the upper 90's are coming.
I put the hose in our pond yesterday...I guess even fish like a water park.
