Friendships
I have mentioned before the unexpected friendships I have experienced through sharing pictures here. Somehow I have connected with a kind man named Frederick who lives in South Africa. He sent me this email and I'd like to share it with you...
Good day Anita,
Your latest photo, "Just a glimpse," has prompted me to write. Living where I do, I have only seen snow once in my 78 years, when we were on holiday in a resort here in the Drakensberg Mountains. It is therefore difficult for me to imagine just what it must be like going through the winters you experience. What I see is the beauty you capture in your pictures, without having to feel the discomfort of the cold, and the long bleak months, so thank you very much. I thought I would pass on to you this thought I read this morning:
"In God's order, winter always gives way to spring.
The iron grip of January yields to the sunshine of His love.
If not now, then soon. Spring will not tarry. New life is on the way."
- Joni Eareckson Tada in her book "Secret Strength."
With sincere appreciation for the beauty of the images and inspiration of the words you share,
Kind regards,
Frederick
Well, Frederick, thank you for making my day a bit brighter too.
