And sometimes it's not about the pictures at all...
My mom was visiting for the weekend to celebrate her 88th birthday. On Saturday we drove 70 miles north to see if we could spot the eagles along the Wisconsin river. While the eagles remained quite a distance from us and the opportunity to photograph them was poor, I'd say it was one of my favorite days this winter!

Bringing up the rear...
Psalm 103:13
As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him...

Seeing for the first time...
"Sometimes when I'm running, I pretend I am seeing things for the first time...
the park, the trees, our house. I don't ever want to take this for granted."
I've been married to Bruce for 33 years, but was surprised to learn he did that when he ran. An entry in Ann Voscamp's devotional, 1,000 Gifts, started our discussion. She writes,“The practice of giving thanks...eucharisteo...this is the way we practice the presence of God, stay present to His presence, and it is always a practice of the eyes. We don't have to change what we see. Only the way we see.”
A life of gratitude and praise...in photos, in words, in thoughts.
