Einar J. Agnarsson Slambient is my new favorite subgenre. This EP is even more experimental than the original Sooth. "Thoughtful Absorption" and "For You" are cathartic for me, in a way. The repeating vocal chants may have the effect of lulling you into some kind of hypnotic trance. The slamming, crunchy, brutal death metal is up-front, and right in your face--yet the samples and electronics give it a nice balance...making for a soothing, yet pummeling experience. Favorite track: For You.
