363K views · 24K reactions | This was a reel from last year when I was going the extra mile to make a lot of black clay pieces with gold touches. I loved the results of that work, but it was a lot extra time to make and it put me over the edge for a holiday release. My intention going into the new year is to keep making this kind of work, but not during the most stressful time of year. Most artists want to make their most extravagant and special work for holiday releases, but there’s a lot behind the scenes that can go wrong and often does. I’m trying to do better and make work I know will have a good result for big releases, but it’s so tempting try something I’ve never done before. Sometimes it pays off, but not enough as a potter. We have a lot of fails before proving a new design, glaze, or technique. I love what I do and I thankfully only failed at a small handful of pieces this release, most were from rushing and making avoidable mistakes. 😊 | Jennifer Spring | AK & Liam Thomas · Peace of Mind
