The design is made with 5 coats of underglaze to ensure a thick, opaque coverage. Covering the underglaze is a glossy, clear glaze. The underglaze and glaze fully coat both pieces. Due to this type of application, both pieces have 3 small blemishes on the underside. It's a great size for jewelry or even office supplies. It was shaped, trimmed, underglazed, and glazed by hand.
