Gilla Leigh Home Designs on Instagram: "I’ve always wanted an electric fireplace in my bedroom, but couldn’t find any I loved. So one day, I drew up the design Plan for what I wanted and handed it to my husband. I’m fortunate, my husband can build pretty much anything I ask:) Building this fireplace was very affordable and very simple to do. The board running lateral were used to attach to studs , because I didn’t want to drill into my wood floors or ceiling. We then framed in a box. Beadboard would’ve been easy, but I like the clean modern look of Sheetrock better. Can you believe my 83yr old mom is a pro at plastering,and did that tetius job for us. I found an amazing affordable fireplace insert that had great reviews on Amazon. Just comment link below and I can send you the exact one
