👩‍🔬Cystoisospora belli (Morfologia)
Cystoisospora belli es un protozoo parásito intracelular que causa isosporiasis, una infección intestinal. Afecta principalmente a personas inmunocomprometidas, como pacientes con VIH/SIDA. Se transmite por vía fecal-oral a través de alimentos o agua contaminada. Los síntomas incluyen diarrea acuosa, dolor abdominal, pérdida de peso, fiebre y malabsorción. El diagnóstico se realiza mediante examen de heces con tinciones especiales (como Kinyoun). El tratamiento de elección es trimetoprima-sulfametoxazol. En casos recurrentes o crónicos, puede requerirse terapia prolongada o profilaxis. Mejora con la restauración inmunológica en pacientes con VIH. La higiene y el saneamiento son clave en la prevención. 📷dentro_del_lab
