I bought a 1920's house with a flood damaged kitchen. I was able to design a kitchen from scratch, keeping the historical look in mind. It felt very HGTV to take out a wall so the beautiful dining room became part of our everyday kitchen and living area. Many pictures and descriptoins of this total 1920's kitchen renovation! Open Kitchen and Living Room Design Ideas

It was small and closed off from the rest of the house with a common wall between the living room and the kitchen - with no dining room at all. So the wall to the left was the wall we wanted to remove to open up the kitchen to the living room.
