When Jessie of Cape 27 Blog and her family got their new home, they got right to work on renovations. Just two months after moving in they were making big updates, including opening up this kitchen that was closed off from the rest of the house. Take a look at what they did. They started by tearing down the wall that separated the kitchen from the rest of the living space. They also removed a bar-height counter that created another barrier to the kitchen.

Well friends, we have officially started phase one of our kitchen remodel. Whoot whoot! I'm seriously doing a little dance over here as I type those words, because I'm just so darn excited. Happy Monday friends! I'm soooooo excited for this post today because I get to share an update on our kitchen remodel. You guys, the pass-through is DONE. Eeeeek!! Cue all the jazz hands. If you read this post you saw how many obstacles we were running into when we initially started this project about a month ago.

I bought a 1920's house with a flood damaged kitchen. I was able to design a kitchen from scratch, keeping the historical look in mind. It felt very HGTV to take out a wall so the beautiful dining room became part of our everyday kitchen and living area. Many pictures and descriptoins of this total 1920's kitchen renovation! It was small and closed off from the rest of the house with a common wall between the living room and the kitchen - with no dining room at all. So the wall to the left was the wall we wanted to remove to open up the kitchen to the living room.
