Let’s dive in! Recipe - 1. In a pressure cooker, toss in 1/2 cup of soaked Moong Dal and 1/2 cup Tuvar Dal, a pinch of turmeric, a sprinkle of salt, and 3-4 bay leaves. Add 2 cups of water and let it whistle away (3 whistles on medium heat). 2. In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil, toss in 1 tsp cumin seeds, a pinch of asafoetida, and the aromatic duo of 1 finely chopped small Ginger Knob & 2-3 finely chopped Garlic Cloves. Sauté with 1 medium sized chopped onions until golden brown. 3. Spice it up! Add red 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder. 2 tsp Coriander Seeds Powder, 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder and 1 tsp Garam Masala . After a good mix, introduce 2 chopped tomatoes and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they soften beautifully. 4. Next, add a bunch of finely chopped spinach and let it wilt. Then, bring in the cooked dal and mix it all together. Adjust with 1/4 cup water for the desired consistency, and let it boil! 5. For that extra magic, prepare a tadka with 2 tsp oil, garlic, kasuri methi, 2 Dried Red Chillies And 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder to pour on top of your dal.
