Spring ModCloth Wedding

For the ModCloth contest, I designed a board inspired by my wedding, 2 years ago. I knew that after working in a bridal shop for 2 years, I had to get a little outside the box (or church) and do something more my style: natural and easy! We held our wedding outside in the garden of a beautiful historic home in KY (my dad and uncle played "Here comes the sun" on guitar as our processional). I made most of the decorations myself, and had lots of vintage inspired ideas, like heart shaped cut outs that guests wrote messages on with fabric markers...they hung on a clothesline at my outside reception, which was picnic style, by a lake under a big white tent. I still have all the hearts, and someday I want to make them into a quilt. My aesthetic is a little southern-country chic, feminine vintage (think LACE), with a little boho and a bit of the eclectic added in. I chose my two favorite colors that just flat out make me happy: shades of pink and tiffany blue. These colors are so beautiful with metallic accents. If I could add some new ideas now, I would be less timid and make the details even more ME. For future brides out there, don't worry about all the pressure for traditions..your wedding should be your own, in all the details...and those really are some of the best memories. It really was the best day!
