Discovering the Levitical and Melchizedek priesthoods in the Bible
There are two priesthoods that the Bible speaks of. Knowing the differences between these two will help you to understand the work of Jesus - who is high priest of the Melchizedek priesthood. In this post we examine key differences between these two, that many Christians are unaware of. -The Melchizedek priesthood does not require the blood of animals. -Scripture considers Melchizedek greater than Levi. -Levitical priests needed to first atone for their own sins, but the Messiah did not. -The Levitical system was meant to be a shadow of the Melchizedek order. -The Melchizedek priesthood is forever, while the Levitical priesthood was for a time. -Levitical sacrifices had to be offered up daily, but the Messiah's sacrifice was once and for all.
🌿 Work for Everyday: Faithful Work
🌿 Work for Everyday: Faithful Work | Colossians 3:23-24 📖 In Colossians 3:23-24, Paul brings forth an eternal perspective when he points out that those who are in Christ are bondservants who will receive an inheritance. God has occupational work for each of us, and we are to accomplish this work out of love, obedience, and service to him. The work is not for us or for others, it is for God. We are to work for God from the soul, not for temporal satisfactions.
