1.1M views · 18K reactions | Here’s how you can support your pre crawling baby 👇🏻 👋🏻 I am a pediatric occupational therapist and a mom who is passionate about early childhood. Sharing with you the building blocks to a thriving development. If your baby’s current stage involves pushing their chest off the surface, reaching with one hand while shifting weight, getting onto all fours, and rocking back and forth. These actions indicate they’re in the pre-crawling phase and are developing skills essential for crawling. Integrating simple activities during their playtime opens your baby opportunities to practice and thrive. Here’s are some helpful activities: ✨ holding a toy a little out of reach above their shoulder height ✨ rocking baby while on they are on all fours ✨weight bearing: lifting their body off the ground while they hold themselves up with their arms ✨ balance core on cushion or pillow while reaching ✨ Supported kneeling positions: playing on their knees while leaning against something ✨ sit to crawl transfer: help baby get from side sitting to all fours by playing toy on one side and moving to the opposite side. ✨ place toys out of reach/ organize them in a semi circle to encourage pivoting body in different directions/ or use toys that move ex) balls ✨✨✨ One of the most effective methods to helping your baby become more mobile is giving them a safe and open space aka FLOORTIME. All of these activities aim to enhance strength, improve balance and stability and improve coordination necessary for crawling. 7.9M views · 67K reactions | Try this fun finger play with your little one! 🐛🐰🐱🦋🦖 👋🏻 Hi! I’m a music therapist and mom of 3 who loves to share fun ways to use music in your home or classroom to help little ones grow and develop. Finger play songs or rhymes are great for little brains! They help your little one practice fine motor skills (holding up 3 fingers is HARD!). For toddlers, finger play songs can help them learn how to count, and work on animal identification. As always, rhyming is great for language development, and learning new songs is great for working on memory! Want to switch things up? Try to come up with different animals with your child, and let their creativity shine! ✨ I learned this song from @missjoliemusic and knew we had to try it out! 💕 #musicathome #musicforlittles #fingerplay #preschool #preschoolrhymes #childdevelopment #kidfun #magicfingers #kindergarten #toddlers #toddlerhood #parenting | Music For Littles

109K views · 3.9K reactions | So let’s talk about crawling, shall we? Crawling is an invaluable skill that we all want to emphasize in our babies to help promote typical development. For clarification, crawling is what is known as army crawling and creeping is what most people refer to as crawling on all 4s. Army crawling happens before creeping typically between 6-9 months. Sometimes babies have difficulty getting their body propelling forward with army crawling because of the way development occurs in babies, head to toe. Not all babies need a boost, but if your babies has shown the ability to do the aforementioned skills in the video and they seem to be getting frustrated that they can’t get to toys, gives this trick a try! The weight shift forward is crucial and they are likely to face plant. When they squirm and try to push forward, they will make contact with other your body and push forward! This is just one of the tricks I use so be on the lookout for more crawling videos!
