Doomed Confessionary: Sammy Benayad (MoD)
MoD is a psychedelic stoner/hard rock band from Tilburg, the Netherlands.
The group evolved from Minions of Doom: Somewhere in between blues and metal. Each band member’s musical influences flow through the music, which makes MoD difficult to define. That is why they do not define. Just listen!
MoD are Bart de Groot (guitar, vocals), Sammy Benayad (bass) and Arno Kroes (drums).
Can you say a few words about your band?
We are MoD, a triheaded hard/stoner band with heavy grooves from Tilburg (the Netherlands).
What was the biggest challenge for the band last year?
Reinventing our sound and writing after a break with our former rhythm guitarist. It has been a difficult proces but we’ve definitely grown as band and managed to mature our sound more.
What can you be most proud of last year?
We’ve written a new single called »Years«. It wil be released on our upcoming EP this year. It’s definitely one of our best tracks.
What was your biggest regret?
I guess we don’t really have any. We wish we had played some more shows but that’s about it haha.
What was the best concert/tour last year and why?
We played The Little Devil together with a another band (AtFirst). Great atmosphere and crowd!
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
The new album of Russian Circles, Zeal And Ardor, and Cobra The Impalor. We definitely recommend checking them out.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We play Rock Cafe the etalage in Heusden (Belgium) in March. Follow our socials to stay up to date!
What are your plans for this year as a band? What do you personally want the most?
Releasing our new EP. Perhaps doing a release tour and enter the festival scene. But most of all reaching more people and having a good time.
How can people best support your band?
Follow our Instagram, Facebook, Spotify. And visit our shows when we’re in the area.
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thanks for the support and we hope to see you again in the near future. Perhaps crack some beers after a show!
