H.K. Working on the textile waste EP with all dogwhistle members was not only fun but also adventurous and exhilarating. The past year has elevated and matured my skill and appreciation for a broader landscape of post-hardcore to the next level, while breaking confined boundaries in the current HC scene. Nonetheless, what’s most important is that it was a project made by five folks with similar convictions and beliefs rooted in emancipation and DIY. Hope you’ll like it. Favorite track: brokenwindowsbloodyhands.

about

From the dense, industrial sprawl surrounding Toronto comes Dogwhistle, a post-hardcore/noise band committed to making the loudest music known to mankind. Juxtaposing the noisy, groovy fringes of 90s hardcore like Snapcase, Unsane, Shallow North Dakota with the scorched-earth sensibilities of Uniform and Diamanda Galás, Dogwhistle's five-song debut EP Textile Waste is a blistering takedown of the rampant labour exploitation, police brutality, and militarized violence that define today's geopolitical landscape.

Subtlety is dead. Scream even louder. Throw your shoe in the face of all oppressors. No justice, no peace.
