Abstract:

It is known that wandering sensing systems (WSSs) that are beginning to be introduced into medical fields affect wireless medical telemetry systems (WMTSs). We evaluated the safe introduction of the WSSs in the electromagnetic environment using three steps: (1) information collection by the instruction manual, (2) visualization of the transmitted signal, and (3) matching with the wireless medical telemeter channel. While the information collection of the instruction manual of the WSSs may be used for simple screening on the effect on the WMTS, the amount of information is insufficient depending on the frequency used. Since spectrum analyzers are not widely used in medical institutions, manufacturers of WSSs require more detailed descriptions of necessary information on the electromagnetic environment.
