Abstract:

The title of this article could be "Making Anything Matter" because the authors have described patterns of introducing anything into organizations. They neatly point out the difference between compliance (which comes about with an edict from on high) and commitment (which results when people choose to do something because it brings real value) and then describe the implementation of Personal Touch, one of the most important patterns for introducing any new idea. Change happens one person at a time, and the motivation for that change will be different for each adopter. I like this article, and I hope you will like it and find that it addresses a real problem for you!
