Out of my comfort zone...

Hello to all my lovely Blogland buddies. I hope that today finds you well, happy and able to squeeeeze in a little time in the craftroom.

I bought this gorgeous stamp set called Ranuculus from Stampendous a while ago. While I love the swirly flowers I really struggle to use the set for anything other than creating backgrounds. I wanted to make the flowers the stars of the show, so stamped and heat embossed, before colouring with Distress inks.

I can't get enough of Shirley Bee's style of water colouring right now and decided to see if I could use it with these stamps. From my point of view the jury is out on my first attempt but everyone has to start somewhere. I added a sentiment from my newly arrived Winnie & Walter set 'The big, the bold and the happy'. I love these bold script stamps and feel that the W&W girls have filled a gap in the sentiment market with these beauties.
I'm linking up with Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes Challenge. I'm new to this site, but loving the DT cards and the challenges so would recommend you drop by and take a look.

Finally, I'm going to share a few pics from yesterday. Anyone who has been following my blog for a while will be aware of my hubby's devotion to our local football team Halesowen Town aka The Yeltz. Yesterday, we traveled to Belper in Derbyshire to cheer on the lads to a stunning 2-0 victory thus ensuring promotion to the Northern Premier League Premier Division. Here are the scenes following the final whistle.

One man pitch invasion! Hubby was over the barriers and away...

 The crowd went wild!
The lads get their hands on the trophy...

Our 'Ben 10': the hero of the hour and the club's top goal scorer with Hubby.
 The mighty Yeltz!

Well done lads, you did us proud!

Multi-tasking...

Happy Wednesday everyone! I say that with great confidence having been corrected by my Mom when I told her it was Thursday this morning.

Meet Jean, she's one of the Art Impressions Clear Stamps Still Livin' series, and she always makes me smile whenever I see her.

I'm not sure where the 'sentiment' comes from, but its one I've been wanting to use for a little while. I hope nobody is offended and it makes you chuckle. I've made this card for a friend who will have a good laugh as she once did a little 'multi-tasking' herself... I can't name names for obvious reasons!!!

I'm linking up with:
Less is More Challenge #168 'Makes me smile' and Naughty or Nice Challenge #3 'For the Ladies'.
There are some great cards on both sites, so I'm going to grab a cuppa and go visiting... and smiling!

Happy crafting everyone!

Hey Chickie!

I'm back to share an Easter card made using Paper Smooches Chubby Chums.
I coloured the chick with Promarkers and pencils, and then did a little fussy cutting.

I have to say the card came together very quickly, and ended up looking exactly as I'd planned... which doesn't happen very often!

And now, as they say, for something completely different...

At the school where I work we had an Easter scene competition for the children. I wish I'd photographed more of the entries as they were all fabulous. However, I simply HAD to photograph this scene created by Lucy in Year 4.

One morning last week Lucy grabbed my hand and dragged me the length of the corridor because she wanted to show me her amazing 'Neggerbrook School Library' creation. I love the fact that Lucy has re-created the arrangement of the library, filled it with happy readers and sat me at my desk!

Just look at the tiny books on the shelves and the posters on the walls.

Finally, I hope you won't mind a very proud godmom sharing a pic of the happy couple from my previous post. I know I'm biased but doesn't Sarah look totally radiant, and just how every bride should look on her wedding day. Gary really looks the bizz too! Sarah and Gary really are perfect for one another and I wish them every happiness for their future together.

Happy crafting everyone!

A CAS card for the newly weds!

My sweet goddaughter Sarah and her fiance Gary have finally tied the knot after 14 years together.

I've made them a little CAS card, which I hope will give them a giggle, using Word Art and my newly arrived Sweet Pea Designs set Take a Load.

There's a 'Touch of Turquoise' on those cute boxer shorts, so I'm linking up with the LIM Colour Week 116 Challenge!

Right then, I'm off to do the ironing....

It's 12 noon and I'm still in my jim-jams... but I do have the excuse that I am still poorly.

The lovely Deborah has posted the reveal for March CCC and there are some gorgeous cards to see! I followed Deborah's sweet and simple sketch for the card I sent to Cat in Maryland...

and just look at this gorgeous card on its way to me from Lucille in Colorado.

If you want to join in the fun just head on over to Deborah's blog and sign up for her April challenge!
