The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #267 - S is for Spooky

Edna is helping us play S is for Spooky this month over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers! October is also breast cancer awareness month, so we're offering you an option to include pink on your creation.

My card isn't so much spooky as just plain silly!

My Sizzix ghosts are enjoying a chat against a Tim Holtz embossing folder background. All in all, this was a fun card to make.

I'm going to link this card over at The Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge. This is such a fun challenge and I have no idea why I don't play here more often. Their Mood Board for this month is just brilliant and the DT inspiration rocks!

And finally, don't forget to check them boobies, gals, it's important and could just save your life!

Take care. x

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #266 - Finally Fall

We're playing F is for Finally Fall over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and Edna is here to get us in the mood.

For some reason I don't fully understand, I've created a snark-free card for this challenge.

I had fun with some Sizzix Thinlets Artsy Leaves and Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles. I have to say that photographing this card was virtually impossible and it looks so much nicer IRL.

I'm linking this card over at CAS on Friday Challenge #317 where they're playing Fall. There are some stunning cards from the DT to look at and enjoy, and some lovely entries in the linky gallery thus far.

Back at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers my sistahs and our reigning monarch have created some fab cards, so please come and play along

It's Reveal Time once again over at The Card Chain Challenge.

As always, we're all about spreading love around the world,
one handmade card at a time!!

We had 20 participants who exchanged cards across the globe this month.

All the cards exchanged this month used at least one of the following options:

Colour Palette Option

(Exact matching is not required.)

Sketch Option

(Orient as desired.)

Theme Options: Gingham / Something beginning with 'Tu' / Friendship

Product / Technique Options:  Wood  / Rip It Up

Here's what I sent to Robyn Oliver in Australia...

I received this master class in how to use the sketch option from Carol in the UK. It's the texture plus Carol's attention to detail that makes this card so special.

If you're new to the Card Chain Challenge this is an event where everybody wins. You make a card for the person above you on the chain and you receive a card from the person below you on the chain. It's a personalised swap, sort of, and it's heaps of fun and rather addictive!

Should you wish to join in the fun you can sign up for the next Card Chain Challenge.  All sign ups run in advance, from the 7th of the preceding month to the 6th of the exchange month.  All reveals happen on the 2nd of the month after the exchange is complete.

The Christmas Kickstart Challenge #98 - Reminder

Hi Kickstarters... we've reached the midpoint of our challenge with the lovely Becca

Becca has chosen a lovely theme for us to play with this month and we're loving how many different ways you guys are finding to interpret our challenge.

Challenge #98 - Winter Warmers

Here's a reminder of Becca's cute card...

You can find all the details over on Becca Flickr site here

I really love this little cutie and for my inspired by... card I picked-up on the different colours of the circles behind the bird, but turned them into presents instead.

I was really inspired by the circles on Becca's cute card, so also made this...

The little 'icons' were made from snippets of paper and card using Sizzix set Festive Things.
I'm delighted to be able to link this card to Snippets Playground Challenge #506.

My final card for this Reminder is this one:

Very quick and easy to make, and looks quite cute IRL as there's plenty of sparkle.

Rudolph has a cute stamp set on offer for his May Random Raffle.

Becca and I very much hope you'll come and play along with us! We look forward to seeing how YOU interpret our challenge theme!

All together now...

"Edna's a lumberjack and she's OK
She sleeps all night and she works all day..."

Bravo to Sister Lee for yet another awesome Edna to get us in the mood for Challenge #261 - M is for Manly.

For some reason I decided to grab a Grim Reaper die from Sizzix for this one.

A balloon die cut and a Dani Doodles stamp also jumped on board to join the fun.

There are some truly brilliant macho creations on offer for this challenge, so please come and join us over at The Sisterhood... lumberjack shirts are optional.

The Christmas Kickstart Challenge #96 - Not the Norm!

Over at Kickstart HQ I'm delighted to welcome back my dear friend Arlene from A Bit of This and That... as our elf for March.

This month we're asking you to step away from the RED, GREEN and GOLD and join us in a colour challenge where we invite you to pick colours that are...

Challenge #96 - Not the Norm

Arlene and I have had heaps of fun playing this theme, so please head over to the challenge and see Arlene's gorgeous card.

Here's my creation for our challenge:

I used three shades of Distress Oxide to colour a lovely embossed panel (thanks so much, Greta) and added a teal Sizzix Noel die cut.

My second card is also an inky number. I used a portion of a pink gelli print and over stamped, then heat embossed in white with a favourite Sunny Studio snowflake background.

This card looks so much better IRL, but I may pep-it-up a little as it seems to lack a little something now I'm looking at it on the screen. I wonder what I could do? Ideas are welcome!

Rudolph has a sweet prize on offer for his Random Raffle...

And Arlene and I are very much looking forward to seeing your non-traditional colour combos!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge # 94 - Reminder

Welcome back, card friends! We have the very talented Julia Aston as our first elf of the New Year over at The Christmas Kickstart and she's created another gorgeous bauble-themed card for our Reminder post... Please head over and take a look

Here's a reminder of the gorgeous card Julia made to get the party started!

As regular visitors will be aware I like to make an Inspired by card for the Reminder post and attempt not to shamelessly CASE my guest's original creation. I love Julia's cute Christmas pudding bauble, but really struggled to get my head around which elements to include for my card. I love the sweet, playful nature of Julia's beautiful card and so here's what I came up:

A single bauble, patterned paper and a little gentle humour! This card was made in these colours as a reminder of my sweet girl cat, Cleo. Once the tree was up and decorated she would quietly eye up a bauble, check whether we were watching and then extend a paw, bat the bauble from the tree and expertly dribble it across the floor!

I combined a few different dies and images for this card: Paws Up Die from Waffle Flower, Wreath Tag Sentiments from Avery Elle, and Funky Baubles from Sizzix.

My second card for this challenge is inspired by my boy cat Custard. He just used to look blankly at the tree and take no notice of all the sparkly, dangly stuff. He always wore a look of 'Oh, that thing again.' whenever the tree appeared.

The cat is from Globeland Stamps and the Sentiment is from a fun Whimsy Stamps set I've just opened called Merry Stressmas

I'm linking-up over at The Jingle Belles as they are looking for Something Old, Something New for their first challenge of the year. The cat and the sentiment are new, but I've had the bauble stamps for years and have lost the backing sheet and everything! Still stamps well though.

Rudolph has a beautiful bauble as the prize for our first challenge of 2025!

There's still plenty of time to play along, so please come and join Julia and me... and don't forget to Bring the Baubles!
