Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Sunshine

Hello and Happy Monday!  It's the 5th Monday of the Month and that signals a "themed" challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies.  The theme this week is Sunshine...which is what many have been asking for since the weather has been cold and dreary.  It's been cold in Florida...colder than we are used to but it could be worse.....at least we're not dealing with snow and ice!

The sponsor this round is Newton's Nook and I've used the Newton's Day Dream Stamp set to create my Design Team card for this challenge round.

I've inked through a Sun Ray stencil on a panel of patterned paper to create the sunny background.  Newton has been colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and fussy cut along with the speech bubble.

To break up the bright yellow and "ground" the image, I've adhered flag banners and doodled them with "stitching lines".  I've popped up the speech bubble and Daydreaming Newton on craft foam for that dimension I like and lastly, added blue sequins for additional interest and shine.

Please join us this week at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and share your crafty Sunshine themed projects.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge - Be The Sunshine

Hello Everyone, today starts a new challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies and the winner of this weeks' challenge will receive a $10 Gift Certificate to Unity Stamp Company.

For my design team project this round, I created an A2 sized card using the Simon Says Stamp Set titled Hello Sunshine from the August Card Kit.  The focal image and sentiment are from the same set.

I stamped the sun rays using Distress Ink in the color Squeezed Lemonade and used a Quickie Glue pen to trace the rays with the glue.  I then sprinkled an iridescent glitter in the color Phoenix from Painted Valley Designs over the glue and let it dry thoroughly.  Phoenix is a Yellow Glitter so I wasn't bothered the distress ink didn't give a crisp stamp.

To finish up the card, I cut a small piece of black card to back the focal image and used a Polka Dot DSP from The Basics 2 by The Paper Studio.  Lastly, I wrapped ribbon from Gina K. Designs and tied a simple bow knot.

I hope you'll visit Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge blog this week and enter for your chance to win the Unity Stamp Gift Certificate.  Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Sunshine - Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog

Hello and Happy Saturday!  Today I'm sharing my 3rd project as Guest Designer for the month of August on Sketch Saturday.  The image I used is Sunshine from The Paper Shelter who is the sponsor of the challenge this week.

The image was pre-colored so it made for a quick card.  This image is so sweet and the color combo was perfect and easy to match up with the papers I had in my stash.

For the challenge, there was also a sketch to follow:

I decided to add the flowers, following the sketch as closely as I could. I distressed the edges of the focal image with a Tim Holtz Paper Distresser and inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  The polka dot patterned paper added just enough visual imagery for her.

I'm pleased with how Sunshine turned out and I hope you've been inspired to visit Sketch Saturday and join the fun.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
