Este retrato se pintó el mismo año en que se fundó la Tate Gallery, y llegó a ser uno de las pinturas más populares en sus paredes a principios del siglo XX. This portrait was painted the year the Tate Gallery was founded, and proved to be one of the most popular pictures on these walls at the beginning of the 20th century. Peacock was the darling of art critics at the onset of his career, but he never reached fame. His model, Ethel Brignall, was fourteen when he painted her. He married her sister Edith a few years later. The wooden panelling in the background of this portrait was used as a backdrop in most of Peacock’s later portraits of children.

Marcel Marceau llegó al estudio de Jack Mitchell el 26 de marzo de 1973 agotado después de un viaje de avión. Se animó cuando Mitchell le contó sus ideas para la sesión. Mitchell hizo una serie de fotografías, tanto retratos como tomas de cuerpo entero de Marceau contra fondos oscuros - tomando exposiciones múltiples en negativos individuales. Marcel Marceau arrived at Jack Mitchell's studio on March 26, 1973 exhausted after a plane trip. He perked up when Mitchell told him his ideas for the session. Mitchell shot a series of photographs, both portraits and full figure shots of Marceau against dark backgrounds - taking multiple exposures on single negatives. His idea, which excited Marceau, was that in each shot he would be reacting to his other selves. Mitchell directed each individual exposure, moved the camera slightly and took a succession of shots. The session lasted two hours and resulted in a wonderfully creative series of photographs. Mitchell used the technique many times during the course of his career and with a variety of artists, dancers, musicians and performers. He loved it because the end result was not completely predictable and always had interesting confluence of highlights. (Craig B. Highberger).

Las patas de esta mesa auxiliar están hechas de un árbol de arce. La vid agridulce rodea las patas de la mesa y está entrelazada con paneles de cañas tejidas de vivos colores para crear la estructura de la mesa debajo de su parte superior de cristal. Una sección ondulada muy grande y distintiva de vid se ha utilizado para anclar la parte inferior de la estructura del marco de la mesa. The legs of this end table are made from a maple tree. Bittersweet vine both encircles the table's legs and is interlaced with panels of brightly colored woven reeds to create the table's structure under its glass top. A very large and distinctive wavy section of bittersweet has been used to anchor the bottom of the table's frame structure. This table was designed and built to match a king-size headboard which Tina calls Perfect Waves of Color. Link
