I’ve admired Jacques Emery's bass playing ever since he arrived on the Sydney scene and it was great to have him in the band for a while and sitting in from time to time. Having heard several of his compositions, I knew he would write brilliantly for our ensemble. The Slow Tides evolves from an initial repeated bass and gamba riff and takes the band’s sonorities to new, intense and beautiful places.
