Talk:base
Was thinking how to define a meaning - is one required? Also sound-alike/homophone of bass - meaning low frequency sound, but the the fish bass could confuse - at least the way I say it.trunkie 16:39, 26 Feb 2004 (UTC)
Synonym to radix
[edit]In mathematics, the phrase number base, or simply base can be used as a synonym to radix. That is, in the sense of "we work in base ten", "computers work in base 2" or "dozenists prefer base twelve". I will write a definition describing it as a synonym, and linking to radix. Is this a good idea? 2.103.90.63 22:10, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
