[edit]According to Jokl, Tagliavini, Çabej a cognate to Proto-Slavic *mora (“nightmare”) / Ancient Greek μέριμνα (mérimna, “trouble, thought, uneasiness”).[1][2]
According to Orel borrowed from Latin timōrem.[3]
