[edit]Transliteration of Manchu ᠺᠣᡵᠺᠠ (k'ork'a, “Gurkha”), from Classical Tibetan གོར་ཁ (gor kha, “Gurkha”), from Middle Nepali गोर्खा (gorkhā, “Gurkha”), from Sanskrit गोरक्ष (gorakṣa, “cowherd”).
